What a fantastic show day

Last weekend was the international dog show in Groningen. This year there were 2217 registered dogs. FCI Group 6 was judged yesterday.
For us it was almost a home race, it was only a half hour drive from our house. The judging of Mango was  early in the morning. The  ring was very small and Mango could not show him self on the best way.. The judge came from Finland and she found  Mango  a great dog. He got 1 excellent, Best of Breed. So at the end of the day he must come back in the ring for the judging of  group 6, the houndgroup.

After an incident in the junior handling we decided that  Lindsay Horenga should take Mango in the main ring. Lindsay is one of the best junior handlers in the Netherlands and will represent the Netherlands next week at the Crufts. On the last show for Crufts, she needed something to boost  her confidence. To leave the show  with a good feeling, after all that happened, we asked her to show Mango in the honour the ring. Lindsay and  Mango are very fond of eachother and are a fantastic team.

Straight up and down for the judge. I got goosebumps when I saw mango marched. Fantastic!

I got tears in my eyes, how  good Mango moved thru the ring!!

 The judge makes a selection of 5. Mango is included in the first 5. Again the dogs are beeing judged. And two have to leave the ring. Mango is still there and the tension runs high, would it happen again ..... At position 1 the Hamilton Stovare!! Yes, yes, yes Mango did it again. what a wonderful feeling. We were proud of Lindsay and Mango. Together on the highest step of the podium.

Now we had to wait until the last groups are judged. When everything is ready the ten winners of the breed groups come in the ring for the selection of Best In Show. It feels great when your dog is there. Starting with 2217 dogs and eventually you stand in the top 10 of the show. Our day could not go wrong.

Mango was not selected by the last three. But it was a fantastic day. Lindsay and Mango made a little dance about the great results.

After a long day, we are tired but with a satisfied feeling at home.

Mango was also very tired and was falling in sleep in his basket, with the ribbons near him.

Today , Mango was a proud dog, I think when he was sitting in the garden, he was remebering all the great times yesterday in the ring.

We also want to congratulate Hans and Monica for breeding this wonderfull boy and of course Pam for letting him stay with us!!!
