The Internationalshow of Rotterdam

Yesterday we went to the international show of Rotterdam. We had to leave very early in the morning, so the alarmclock went of at 5.30. Both the young ones found it a little bit to early and couldn't wake up.At 6.30 we left for Ahoy in Rotterdam. At 8.30 we arrived at Ahoy. After getting the catalogue we went to see were we could put our stuff. At the ring we saw that the Beagles were showing first at 9.30 and afterwards the Hamiltons at 10.30. So we started with the beagles. Dylan was in first in the ring. It was his first big international show. He got Very Promissing and best baby in breed.(Later in the day Dylan got 2nd best baby in show!!!) Then it was Mike's turn. He was 2nd in his class with an excellent. At the moment the beagle bitches were showing I had to go in with MR. Mango. Mango was behaving very nicely, his walking was good and also the handling wih the judge was better then before.(most of the time he doesn't want to stand still, he finds everything to exciting)
The Judge of today was Mr. M.L. Borges (Portugal)

This is the judges report:

Best Puppy in Show !!!!!

Yesterday we went to the show in Hoogeveen. For us it's only a 20 minute drive. We took 3 dogs with us. Mango, Dylan and Mike. First I had to go in with the Beagles and then with Mango. Mango was behaving very nice, but only wants to play a lot. Standing infront of the judge is sometimes a little bit difficult, because he is destracted very easily. Todays showing was next to the airstrip of Hoogeveen airport. So a lot of plains were flying today. This Show Mango preformed very well. And to my surprise won BEST PUPPY IN SHOW !!!!!
The Judge of tody was Mrs G. Halff-van Boven.

This is a translation of the judges report.

6 Months.Beautifull represantative of the breed.

Correct teeth. Soft expression. Good topline.Good bone, legs and feet.

Movent is well, but still sometimes a bit irregular.

The trip to Mango's new Home!!!

Last weekend Petra (breeder of Mike and Dylan) and I went to England. On thursday I went to Petra's house in Wijdenes. After a good night sleep,we got in the car and drove to calais. It's about a four hour drive there. Then we took the eurotunnel train to England, for me it was the first time with the tunnel, but I enjoyed it very much. We just had to drive for another few hours to get to the new house of Pam. (the owner of Mango)When I called Pam a few days before, she told me that she was living in the middle of nowhere, she couldn't be more right. But what a beautifull surroundings!!!!! In the backyard there is a big dam. (Clywedog dam) With next to it the remains of an old leadmine.

At the house we also met the hounds of Pam. Theo an Kaysa. The new future friends of Mango.

Kaysa, Faith and Theo

Petra found it necessary to let Faith, petra's own dog, meet the cows. She's never met any before.

After a little while, we said to Petra that there was a bull comming towards here. So she started to run.

On saturday we visited the Stafford Houndshow. We took 3 dogs with us. Faith, Kaysa and Theo. In front we new that it wasn't going to be our day, but we decided to make a lot of fun on this day.

On the show we met Rosemary Griffiths, with here beautifull Dazzleby foxhounds. She asked me to handle one of here foxhounds in the showingring. So it was my first time on a english show and also the first time to handle a foxhound.

I won Best Puppy and also Best dog, with two of Rosemary's foxhounds.
After showing the foxhounds, the showing of the Hamiltons started.

Theo

Faith

Kaysa

The last part of the show was the presentation of packs of Hounds. There were 5 packs present. Foxhounds, Basset Artisiens, Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Beagles and Blue Mountain Dogs. For me the most beautiful pack was the pack of the foxhounds.

This was the end of the saturday. On sunday after a good English breakfast, we packed up and took one last look at the dam and resevoir and left for home.

Pam Thank you for the wonderful weekend. I've enjoyed it very much. Now I know Mango is also going to a great home.
Rosemary aslo Thanks to you, for the unforgetable experience of showing foxhounds. It was a pleasure to meet you.
